How can the entire region maximize planning and development priorities to ensure that predicted growth can occur smoothly?
The 2005 study predicted that the Charlotte MSA would resemble current Atlanta by 2025, and our net inward migration has tracked that growth since the report was issued. For that prediction to truly succeed, we need the outlying counties to develop true employment centers. We already know how difficult a subject transportation is, and it seems that it will only become more difficult in the near future. We need a vision and a committment across the region to create a destination in which four million people can live, work and shop conveniently but also easily take advantage of business, cultural and recreational amenities available anywhere in the region.
